Residential solar: further reduction in purchase tariffs for installations under 100 kWp

Residential solar: further reduction in purchase tariffs for installations under 100 kWp

2025-10-11

While subsidies for small installations ≤ 9 kWp remain stable, those for higher-power photovoltaic systems have declined by 15 to 16%, whether for surplus sales or total sales. Some self-consumption incentives are also declining.

The Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has published the new purchase tariffs for electricity produced by photovoltaic installations in mainland France, applicable until January 1, 2026. These tariffs are now only valid for installations installed on buildings, sheds, or shade structures with a peak power of 100 kWp or less, which corresponds to a surface area of approximately 500 m². Indeed, since September 22, 2025, installations with a capacity between 100 and 500 kWp are no longer eligible for the open window, but must be submitted to a simplified call for tenders (AOS).

0-9 kWp Segment

In the small photovoltaic segment, primarily intended for residential customers, surplus purchase rates remain stable at €4/kWh, as does the self-consumption bonus, which is €80/kWp.

9-100 kWp Segment

Unsurprisingly, the new rates reflect a decrease in the 9-100 kWp segment, primarily intended for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector. The surplus purchase rate now stands at €6.17/kWh, down 15% compared to the previous period. Self-consumption bonuses are increased to €160/kWp for the 9-36 kWp segment (down 11%) and to €80/kWp for the 36-100 kWp segment (also down 11%). Finally, total sales rates are down 16% and are increased to €10.49/kWh for 9 to 36 kWp and to €9.12/kWh for 36 to 100 kWp.
